How big is a signature
The box reports the drawing you just made. It does not report a personality, and it is not a ruler laid on paper.
What the numbers are
Width and height are the pixel span of the ink in this box. A finger on a phone and a mouse on a large screen do not share a millimeter. Ink length is how far the pointer traveled. None of these is the size of a signature on a check.
What size does not show
A large drawing is not confidence. A small drawing is not modesty. A form with a small box forces a small signature. Read several signatures in the same notebook before you call the size a habit.
Questions
- Does a large signature mean confidence?
- No. It means the drawing in the box was wide. Confidence is not in the width.
- Is the pixel size the size on paper?
- No. The box is a screen. To compare real signatures, measure them on the same sheet.
- What if the form box is small?
- The signature shrinks to fit. That size belongs to the form, not to a trait.
- Can I compare two people by this box?
- Only if they drew in the same box on the same screen. Even then you are comparing drawings, not personalities.
